ATDI continues to support humanitarian causes illustrated by their collaboration with The Netherlands Red Cross. By enhancing network reliability, ATDI enables the Red Cross to continue its vital work with the connectivity it needs.

ATDI provided HTZ Communications license to support the organisation’s DMR network. This donation will empower them to manage, monitor, and optimise its communications network, ensuring robust and reliable connectivity for critical operations.

The network is hosted on infrastructure provided by local mobile network operators, who have generously made their towers available to carry the essential voice and data communications required for their activities. The Red Cross chose HTZ Communications over a competing solution because of its proven quality and reliability, enabling the identification of coverage gaps and areas requiring optimisation.

“HTZ is indispensable in planning our communication networks. It enables us to accurately determine the coverage for our national DMR network using existing infrastructure and ensures robust temporary networks for large-scale events like marathons and Kings Day,” says Michel Frelink, Volunteer with the National Radiocommunications Expert Group within the Red Cross.

To ensure effective use of the software, ATDI will deliver a two-day introductory training course covering essential aspects of network planning and optimisation, including strategies to address potential coverage "not-spots" and capacity challenges.

Looking ahead, should the Red Cross Netherlands decide to adopt emerging technologies like 5G, HTZ is fully equipped to facilitate this transition. Its multi-technology planning capabilities enable seamless upgrades and expanded coverage options.

ATDI remains committed to supporting humanitarian causes, as demonstrated by this partnership with this organisation. By enhancing network reliability, ATDI ensures the Red Cross can continue its vital work with the dependable connectivity it needs.
