ATDI was selected by the French Cyber Defence Command (COMCYBER) to demonstrate its electromagnetic surveillance capabilities during ORION 26, Europe’s largest multinational military exercises.
Led by France, ORION 26 brought together 24 allied nations to prepare for high-intensity, multi-domain warfare. The exercise places a strong emphasis on electromagnetic superiority, recognising the growing importance of spectrum awareness and control in modern military operations.
As part of the exercise, ATDI deployed its ICS Monitoring solution in a tailored configuration designed to support operational electromagnetic surveillance. The system operates with a limited number of broadband receivers and direction finders to demonstrate how distributed monitoring assets can deliver real-time spectrum awareness in contested environments.
ICS Monitoring enables military operators to:
These capabilities allow commanders to gain a clearer understanding of the electromagnetic environment and support faster operational decision-making. In modern conflicts, where electronic warfare and spectrum denial are increasingly common, maintaining visibility of the spectrum is essential to protecting communications and maintaining operational effectiveness.
The solution has already been field-tested in operational environments, including deployments supporting monitoring activities during the conflict in Ukraine. This operational experience highlights the growing demand for reliable spectrum-awareness tools to support military operations in complex electromagnetic environments.
Barbara Monrose, Account Manager at ATDI, commented: “Electromagnetic dominance is no longer a strategic advantage; it is an operational requirement. Our involvement in ORION 26 reflects both our proven experience in active theatres and the increasing recognition that spectrum control is essential to modern defence operations.”
With more than three decades of experience in spectrum engineering, ATDI provides solutions supporting military spectrum operations, electronic warfare, and electromagnetic surveillance. Its technologies are used by defence organisations, regulators, and operators worldwide to analyse, monitor, and manage complex radio environments.
Participation in ORION 26 reinforces ATDI’s role in supporting defence organisations as they prepare for the operational challenges of modern multi-domain warfare.
